Epiphone Casino Vintage Sunburst 2023 Review/Comparison!
Testing out the NEW for 2023 Epiphone Casino and putting up against my 1997 Epiphone Casino (:
Gear used:
Epiphone Casino Vintage Sunburst 2023
Epiphone Casino Vintage Cherry Burst 1997
Fender Princeton Reverb 1967
Warm Audio Centavo Overdrive Pedal
What are my final thoughts? They are two totally different guitars! I guess there really was no reason for me to get another casino, but they do sound quite different and feel different to play. I will say that the quality of the newer casino is GREAT. It really needs no improvement. I did feel that acoustically it was louder and had more bottom end. To me this must have something to do with the newer casino being slightly larger in body but not any thicker than my late 90's casino. The frets felt great and the tuners feel really smooth but n...

The Beatles - Revolution Cover - Johns Rhythm, George’s Lead and Paul’s Bass Guitar
"Revolution" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles, written by John Lennon and credited to the Lennon–McCartney partnership. Three versions of the song were recorded and released in 1968, all during sessions for the Beatles' self-titled double album, also known as "the White Album": a slow, bluesy arrangement ("Revolution 1") included on the album; an abstract sound collage (titled "Revolution 9") that originated as the latter part of "Revolution 1" and appears on the same album; and the faster, hard rock version similar to "Revolution 1", released as the B-side of "Hey Jude". Although the single version was issued first, it was recorded several weeks after "Revolution 1", intended for release as a single. A promotional video for the song was shot using the musical backing track f...

More about the Epiphone Casino!
The Casino, also designated by Epiphone as model E230TD, is a thinline hollow-bodied guitar with two Gibson P-90 pick-ups. Although generally fitted with a trapeze-type tailpiece, often a Bigsby vibrato tailpiece is used in its place (either as a factory direct feature or as an aftermarket upgrade). Unlike semi-hollow body guitars such as the Gibson ES-335, which have a center block to promote sustain and reduce feedback, the Casino and its cousin, the Gibson ES-330 are true hollow-bodied guitars. This makes it lighter, and louder when played without an amplifier, but much more prone to feedback than semi-hollow or solid-body electrics. The Casino neck joins the body at the 15th fret instead of the 19th like on the Gibson ES models. Early versions of the Casino had a spruce top. Through 1970, the Casino headstock was set at a 17-degree angle and the top was made of five laminated layers of maple, birch, maple, birch, and maple.[1][3] With the exception of the John Lennon models, subsequent Casinos have been made with 14-degree headstock angle with five layer all maple laminated tops. Current versions have a laminated maple top, sides, and back, and a mahogany neck.

Testing out the NEW for 2023 Epiphone Casino and putting up against my 1997 Epiphone Casino (:

Warm Audio Centavo Overdrive Pedal
What are my final thoughts? They are two totally different guitars! I guess there really was no reason for me to get another casino, but they do sound quite different and feel different to play. I will say that the quality of the newer casino is GREAT. It really needs no improvement. I did feel that acoustically it was louder and had more bottom end. To me this must have something to do with the newer casino being slightly larger in body but not any thicker than my late 90's casino. The frets felt great and the tuners feel really smooth but not too loose at all. I LOVE that it comes with a padded gig bag! It really is a great guitar that fortunately did not suffer too much of a price increase like most other brands. The pickups on my older casino sure does sound GREAT as well. It has some kind of mojo going on with it, I wonder if it is strictly the pickups or maybe something more? Maybe it is starting to sound sweeter as it ages!

A promotional video for the song was shot using the musical backing track from the hard rock version, along with live-sung lyrics that more closely resemble the "Revolution 1" version.
Paul used His Hofner 500/1 1961 Bass
John used his Epiphone Casino
George used his Gibson SG
Ringo used his Ludwig Drum Kit
Instruments Used:
Paul: Hofner Ignition Bass
John: Vintage VSA 500P
George: 2001 Epiphone Les Paul Custom
